March MeetUp: DC Seward on preventing code injection attacks on IoT endpoints

As we put more devices onto the Internet, we are creating more potential targets for an attack. Attackers will try to exploit the weakest point in any network and they will try to exploit these devices. They will put their own code onto a device for the purpose of accessing other more valuable parts of the network. In this talk, DeWitt "DC" Seward will discuss approaches to locking down devices to prevent access with a simple debugger. DC will also discuss secure firmware upgrades and making sure new device images come from a trusted source. Finally, DC will talk about strategies for managing devices over their entire lifetime, making sure the device security can be upgraded to address future threats and attacks. ++++++++DeWitt "DC" Seward is a Principal Engineer at Silicon Labs where he works on network stack development, product marketing, business development and reference design development. Currently\, DC is part of a team looking at IoT security from an end device perspective.
