Julie LeMoine

Julie LeMoine, Chief Innovation Officer at HorizonIRs, has a 30-year track record of innovation in computer science, computer security, software startups, and collaboration technologies. For the past 12 years, Ms. LeMoine has focused on applying XR and 3D gaming technologies, helping more than 20 different universities and corporate organizations create their strategies, services and increased engagement for gatherings, collaboration and teaching/learning with XR. She has designed and developed and deployed solutions in AR, VR and MR. She is the co-founder of the UMass Medical School Shriver InovaXR lab and is an Irish Research Counsel Scholar. Her PhD research is in applied XR for Health and Wellbeing, focused in AR as assistive tech for Teens and Young Adults with Autism. Much of her consulting work in applied XR focuses multiplayer techniques and uses tools from virtual worlds and multiplayer game engines. In this talk, Ms. LeMoine will focus on some recent Unity work that uses a multiplayer, virtual world API, Sinespace. She will open with a brief summary of her work in the field, discuss this new API for Unity and how she has used it to enable XR goals for clients, including pivoting services in this COVID-19 Pandemic times. The talk will close with a Q&A session. As a special treat, Ms. LeMoine will open up some of the 3D meeting spaces she has created for attendees to try 2 hour before her talk to enable interested parties to experience some of the technology she will discuss in her talk.
