Chris has 20 years of experience in leading software, web and app development projects for businesses of all types, sizes and stages. He greatly enjoys collaborating with clients and users to design and build innovative solutions that solve problems! For 6 years, Chris has been co-running app development firm, Mobinett Interactive, where he co-founded hubEngage, a platform for employee communication and engagement. For 6 years, Chris has also led the operations and growth of Boston New Technology, to become one of the top tech and startup meetup groups in the world. BNT helps startups get significant publicity and free support from the community through networking and live presentations at free monthly events, digital marketing and exclusive opportunities and services from BNT's network. Casey Barrett - Hospitality Manager, WeWork Casey has worked for WeWork for 2.5 years, starting at the front desk and making her way to Hospitality Manager for the 4 (soon to be 6) locations in Boston. She loves meeting new people, hearing new ideas, and being a connector for the Boston innovation community. Previous to WeWork, Casey worked in early childhood special education for the State of Vermont and hopes to use her experience at WeWork to effect major change for that field in the future. Kofi Callender - Executive Director, Smarter in the City Academic. Compulsive problem solver. Entrepreneur. Kofi is a graduate of Babson Graduate School of Business with a concentration in entrepreneurship. He has taken the practicality of classroom theory and deployed it in service of urban entrepreneurship. Over the past decade, Kofi has worked with a number of corporations and startup developing growth strategies. Simone LaPray - Program Manager, TiE Boston Simone is the program manager at TiE Boston, a chapter of the world's largest non-profit supporting entrepreneurship through mentoring, education, networking and funding. She runs their growth stage accelerator, TiE ScaleUp, to help companies overcome common obstacles and barriers to scale while preparing for their next capital raise. Before coming to the Boston area, Simone served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from 2006-2011 working in the areas of business development and education. When she isn't working to help entrepreneurs grow with TiE Boston, she is a proud mentor with BUILD Boston. Mary Tobin - Manager of Development & Strategic Initiatives, New England Venture Capital Association Mary Tobin is the Manager of Development & Strategic Initiatives at the New England Venture Capital Association, where she leads the organization’s gender equity and immigration initiatives in addition to organizing major events and building member and sponsor relationships. She is passionate about creating impactful initiatives that solve real problems. A resourceful advocate and executor, Mary founded a startup in college that garnered IDEA, Rough Draft Ventures, and Dorm Room Fund investments. She graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Finance and Political Science, and she volunteers as a venture coach with IDEA: Northeastern's Venture Accelerator.
