Boston Amazon Web Services Meetup - Wed, 6:00-9:30PM

Thank you to Amazon for sponsoring the location (their Boston office), food/drinks, and this awesome hands-on workshop. This is a special 3-hours hands-on Introductory Workshop on CI/CD Practices. We are limited to 75 attendees. RSVP's will require an additional registration step to confirm your RSVP intention and secure your seat (instructions to be sent closer to this event). A second event may be added based on response. ------------------- Workshop: Introductory Workshop on CI/CD Practices Abstract:In few hours, quickly learn how to effectively leverage various AWS services to improve developer productivity and reduce the overall time to market for new product capabilities. In this session, we will demonstrate a prescriptive approach to incrementally adopt and embrace some of the best practices around continuous integration & delivery using AWS Developer Tools and 3rd party solutions including, AWS CodeCommit (a managed source control service), AWS CodeBuild (a fully managed build service), Jenkins (an open source automated build server), CodePipeline (a fully managed continuous delivery service), and CodeDeploy (an automated application deployment service). We will also highlight some best practices and productivity tips that can help make your software release process fast, automated, and reliable. The workshop will leverage a Cloud9 environment in order to standardize execution. -------------------Pre-Requisites: You can see the pre-requisites README at : github.com/awslabs/aws-devops-essential which include: 1. Valid AWS Account – used for the workshop. It would be best to ensure the account is able to launch instances, and can create a Cloud9 environment. Note: Some folks who generate a new account for these have been known to not be able to operate in the account successfully as the validation process takes time these days. Best to have a tried and true account. 2. A laptop is required (with wireless access) in order to participate. 3. There are pre-requisites for the workshop involving AWS CodeCommit (HTTP credentials) and IAM permissions if the users which to use non-administrative users.
