What role do aesthetics play in data visualization? How can we take aesthetics too far, effectively obscuring the data? Or conversely, can omitting aesthetic elements make a data visualization less effective?
Irene Delatorre will talk to us about her work in data journalism, and dive into some of these questions.

After the keynote, we will have a roundtable discussion. Please bring with you a data representation that you are working on or that you find intriguing. We welcome visualizations that exemplify "good" and "bad" use of aesthetics, or that don't use aesthetics at all!
