We build parity heavily into every step of our process because we prioritize treating our users, designers, and engineers equally. About Linzi Berry (@taptodismiss), Product Design Manager at Lyft for Design Systems, A product designer living on the outskirts of Oakland. Linzi currently leads the Design Systems team at Lyft, who are responsible for building, maintaining and supporting ‘Lyft Product Language’ which spans across mobile and web. Previously she designed digital branding and systems agency side for 7+ years for brands like Tesla, Audemars Piguet, and Fitbit. Dedicated to giving back to the digital design community that taught her, Linzi shares her detailed thoughts on the Medium Tap to Dismiss. =================== Catching bugs with custom lint checks Android Lint is an extremely useful tool that scans your app for hundreds of potential bugs and common issues. But Lint can do much more for advanced users. In this talk we'll show how we use custom lint checks at Lyft to promote best practices and encourage consistent design across our apps. About Alex Lockwood (@alexjlockwood), Android Developer at Lyft for Design Systems Alex is an Android developer who helps other designers and developers to understand and create beautiful apps. He has been writing about Android since 2012 on his blog, Android Design Patterns. He is also the creator of several popular open source libraries, such as Shape Shifter, Kyrie, and Avocado. =================== 3 lessons working with Design & Android If you could go back in time and teach yourself anything about working with designers or engineers, what would it be? Lin and RJ share 3 of their favorite lessons for how to build a more productive working relationship and team. About Lin Wang (@linafab), Senior Product Designer at Lyft for Pay Platform & Fraud Lin Wang is an architect turned product designer living in San Francisco. She has hustled in a few startups before she joined Lyft. She currently works on creating the best pay experience for our riders (also fighting fraud!). She’s learned to code in Swift (oops!) and since then has really enjoyed collaborating with engineering partners. About RJ Marsan (@rjmarsan), Android Tech Lead for Mobility at Lyft RJ Marsan is a 9 year veteran of all things Android, including Google, Hulu and now Lyft. You’ll find him sipping coffee, biking, hiking, snowboarding, eating burritos, and occasionally writing some android code. =================== Thanks to Lyft ( for hosting and providing food + drinks.
