Hey friend!

It’s been way too long. Isn’t it time someone organized something? Let’s do it! This time, we are offering a paper craft project.

Why?
It’s a relaxed hands-on exercise. We’ll play with the basic elements of UI design, but on paper and without the pressure of a client project. It’s a good opportunity to connect with people over a common activity we can all enjoy.

How?
The goal is to make abstract art inspired postcards, playing on UI and UX ideas. Thank-you cards are a good start, and you never know when you’ll need one - but feel free to make something different if you like. A background in design or art is not necessary - in fact, we’ve seen in the past that some of the coolest visuals come from folks who never describe themselves as “artsy”. We’ll provide blank cards, color papers, markers, and other materials for everyone to share. You contribute the ideas for your card!

6:30–8pm on Thursday, February 4th at DockYard HQ:

1. Show up, say hello, grab a snack and a beverage!
2. We’ll start with a brief intro. Then, dig into paper awesomeness.
